Fracture liaison service
The goal of the Fracture Liaison Service is to prevent a second fracture in those that have already experienced an initial or “signal” fracture. The service runs under the guidelines set by Osteoporosis NZ, with clinical supervision by specialists in Rheumatology, Endocrinology and the Geriatrician team.

Strict infection control measures are in place in some wards of Hawke’s Bay Hospital to prevent the spread of Norovirus, a highly contagious vomiting and diarrhoea bug. Chief Medical and Dental Officer John Gommans said Norovirus was circulating in the community.

CHB to get state-of-the-art radiology equipment

More than $400,000 will be invested into Central Hawke’s Bay Health Services before Christmas with the addition of new state-of-the-art digital radiology equipment at Central Hawke’s Bay Health Centre. -

The latest figures from public health officials on gastro -related issues are as follows:13 patients remained on hospital wards as at 4pm this afternoon. That’s down from 17 this morning, with one patient remaining in ICU.
