Antenatal breastfeeding classes
Free antenatal breastfeeding classes are offered at Hawke's Bay Hospital in Hastings on the first Monday of every month (unless that Monday is a public holiday, in which case the class will be on the following Monday). The classes are held in the Education Centre (nearest the Emergency Department entrance on Canning Road) from 5.30pm-7.30pm. See this Facebook event for more details.
COVID UPDATE: post-lockdown, these classes will resume on Monday 8 June; however attendance will be strictly limited to 10 attendees per class. Whanake Te Kura
Hawke's Bay District Health Board funds a FREE pregnancy and parenting education programme (previously know as antenatal classes) run through Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga.
The name of the programme is Whanake te Kura - Nurturing healthy babies.
