Cyanobacteria confirmed at Lake Tūtira
Water test results from Lake Tūtira have confirmed a cyanobacteria bloom on the lake. Medical Officer of Health Dr Nicholas Jones said as the bloom was visible on the lake and test results had confirmed cyanobacteria, the bloom was likely to be toxic to people and animals.

Gastro update Wednesday 17 August
The latest figures from public health officials on gastro -related issues are as follows:13 patients remained on hospital wards as at 4pm this afternoon. That’s down from 17 this morning, with one patient remaining in ICU.

New loss of earnings compensation for live organ donors takes effect

People who donate a kidney or part of their liver can now do so knowing they can be fully compensated for lost earnings as a result of their donation surgery. -
