Getting your hospital prescription dispensed
Wairoa Pharmacy opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm, Saturday 10am to 12pm.
If Wairoa Pharmacy will be dispensing your discharge script and you are going back on this bus and the pharmacy will be closed you have the following options:
- If you live locally within Wairoa township the pharmacy can deliver it to you that evening (free deliveries until 7pm).
- If you live out of town, your medicines can be
- Delivered by Wairoa Pharmacy the following day (free), or
- Dropped to the hospital ward for you to collect when you get off the bus.
Tell the hospital staff which option works best for you and they can write a message on your prescription for the Wairoa Pharmacy team.
Give the hospital staff your contact phone number and ask that they write this on the prescription – the pharmacy may need to contact you.
Ask the hospital staff to be emailed a copy of your script to Waiora Pharmacy before you leave the hospital.
(This hospital staff will keep the prescription, as they need to post it to Wairoa Pharmacy).
