Presentations to accident and medical centres continue to increase. Yesterday 183 people presented to a GP and Hawke’s Bay Hospital had 11 people present overnight, two were admitted.

Hawke’s Bay District Health Board is very sad to report that a woman in her 90s, who had campylobacter infection, died yesterday evening from an unrelated medical condition. The woman who was from Havelock North was admitted to Hawke’s Bay Hospital during the campylobacter outbreak.

Gastro illness in Havelock North media update two - Sunday 14th August
Presentations to accident and medical centres today have been high with 40 people so far presenting to Hastings Health Centre. Other accident and medical centres in the area are also seeing increased numbers of people with vomiting and diarrhoea.

Transport and travel assistance
When you are discharged from hospital
Please note that you are responsible for your own transport home, regardless of how you arrived at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. If you have had an anaesthetic you must not drive for 24 hours. -
Mobility parking and drop-off areas
Mobility car parks are available to anyone visiting or working at the hospital who displays a valid mobility parking permit issued by CCS Disability Action. Permit holders are exempt from paid parking. Designated mobility spaces are located near the entrance of all hospital buildings. -

Hawke’s Bay Hospital continues to remain extremely busy with an increase in admissions of people experiencing respiratory illnesses like asthma, pneumonia and bronchitis. -
