Hawke’s Bay District Health Board is very sad to report that a woman in her 90s, who had campylobacter infection, died yesterday evening from an unrelated medical condition. The woman who was from Havelock North was admitted to Hawke’s Bay Hospital during the campylobacter outbreak.
Hawke’s Bay Hospital’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is the first in the country to install new state-of-the-art technology this month, allowing patients to be hooked up to mobile software that feeds real-time information via wifi onto multiple screens, including hand-held devices.
There is good evidence to show that exposure to adult drinking in childhood increases the risk of hazardous drinking by teenagers. Teenage drinking patterns not only mirror those of their parents and caregivers but also that of their community.

The Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit (AT&R) is a 36-38 bed ward at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
The Medical Day Unit was set up to improve the management of short stay patients who require further treatment and care but do not requrie an inpatient bed.
Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, Central Hawke’s Bay’s Mayor and the Central Hawke’s Bay Health Liaison Group have reached agreement, with the district health board agreeing to defer the temporary closure of the Central Hawke’s Bay Health Centre’s ward beds over the Christmas holiday period.
