Parking at Hawke's Bay Hospital
Paid parkingVehicles parked on the Hastings Hospital site anytime between 8am and 4pm weekdays are required to pay for parking. Parking is free before 8am, after 4pm, and on weekends and public holidays.

Strict infection control in place at Hawke’s Bay Hospital to prevent spread of Norovirus
Strict infection control measures are in place in some wards of Hawke’s Bay Hospital to prevent the spread of Norovirus, a highly contagious vomiting and diarrhoea bug. Chief Medical and Dental Officer John Gommans said Norovirus was circulating in the community.

Emergency Department
The Emergency Department or ED is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Some of our patients are referred by local doctors, some by ambulance and some arrive in the department without a doctor referral as they believe they have an urgent health care problem.

Breastfeeding provides lifelong health benefits for both mothers and babies and is a free, fast food!
For many women breastfeeding is simple, but as with anything it becomes easier with practice. -

Health workers gastro response praisedHealth workers who responded to the gastro outbreak in Havelock North have today been praised by Hawke’s Bay District Health Board (DHB) chief executive Kevin Snee.

Six cases Paratyphoid now confirmed
Six cases of Paratyphoid Fever have now been confirmed by Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, today (26 September). Five confirmed cases have required hospital care at Hawke’s Bay Hospital, and another has needed treatment in Auckland. All patients are recovering with treatment.
