Nursing, midwifery and healthcare assistants covered by the NZNO Multi Employment Collective Agreement (MECA) have issued notice, to all district health boards, of a full withdrawal of labour.

Hawke’s Bay Hospital continues to remain extremely busy with an increase in admissions of people experiencing respiratory illnesses like asthma, pneumonia and bronchitis.
People are being warned not to swim in Pandora Pond, Napier, until further notice due to contamination. Hawke’s Bay’s District Health Board Medical Officer of Health, Dr Nicholas Jones, said monitoring by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council had identified high levels of bacteria in water from samples taken this week.
Mobility car parks are available to anyone visiting or working at the hospital who displays a valid mobility parking permit issued by CCS Disability Action. Permit holders are exempt from paid parking. Designated mobility spaces are located near the entrance of all hospital buildings.
