More than $400,000 will be invested into Central Hawke’s Bay Health Services before Christmas with the addition of new state-of-the-art digital radiology equipment at Central Hawke’s Bay Health Centre.
Strict infection control measures are in place in some wards of Hawke’s Bay Hospital to prevent the spread of Norovirus, a highly contagious vomiting and diarrhoea bug. Chief Medical and Dental Officer John Gommans said Norovirus was circulating in the community.
Norovirus has been confirmed as the bug that has affected a number of patients and staff at Hawke’s Bay Hospital during the week. Chief Medical and Dental Officer John Gommans said the outbreak appeared to be under control, however one ward continued to have restricted visiting in place.
