Accommodation at Hawke's Bay Hospital

Accommodation is available on the hospital site for family/whānau and patients who live out of town, at Mihiroa Whare within our Māori Health Service. You can speak with a nurse in the ward, the duty manager, or contact the Māori Health Service to make arrangements or for further information.

The facility is wheelchair accessible and ongoing support is offered through the hospital liaison service.

Room rates are reasonable and you may qualify for assistance through the transport coordinator at the hospital.

In addition a number of motels are within easy walking distance of Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. 

Cost - CASH ONLY: 
$10 per adult per night
0-17 years free
$20 bond for key and ID card (refundable on return of both) 

Facilities: Cooking facilities (microwave, fridge, kitchen utensils), shower, TV room, towels, wheelchair access, coin-operated washing machine and dryer, TV room, all linen provided, security escort to the hospital at night if required.

You will need to bring: Clothing, personal items (toothbrush, toiletries), your own food (Zacs Cafe is available at the hospital for hot meals and snacks; and there are several cafés, fast food outlets and restaurants within a short distance of the hospital).   

Length of stay:  At the discretion of the facilities manager.
